Fanny was born in 1836 in Norwood, Surrey and was baptised on 23-Oct-1836 in St John Baptist, Croydon.12 Fanny's father was Michael Letts and her mother was Mary Ann. Her paternal grandparents were Michael Letts and Lucy letts. She was the oldest of four children. She had two brothers and a sister, named James, Edward and Elisabeth.
