Simon's father was Arthur Paul (Paul) Beaven and his/her mother was Katharine (Kit) Monica Mary Waterhouse.  His/her paternal grandparents were Thomas William Beaven and Jane Jenkins; his/her maternal grandparents were  Carl Nuttal Waterhouse and  Annie Ethel Wild.  He/she was the youngest of four children.  He/she had a brother and two sisters.
